How To Battle The Season Of Skin Allergies - Monsoon?

Monsoon brings love in the air, but it also brings tons of skin allergies along with it. Though monsoon gives us the much-awaited relief from the scorching heat, the increase in humidity starts having an adverse effect on our skin and aggravates our skin problems. When it comes to a long drive and enjoying a monsoon playlist, rain is bliss, but when it comes to skin allergies, the monsoon season can be a boon or a bane. Well, it comes to skin allergies, the weighing scale tilts more on the side of the bane so much so that it can make you pack your bags and move to a drier region!

However, taking care of your skin can help you keep skin allergies at bay as the monsoon season is about to knock at your door:

Acne/Pimples

During the monsoon, no matter what skin type you are, acne will be your worst nightmare. The arrival of monsoon increases the humidity, and we tend to wash our skin and indulge in too much scrubbing, which can sometimes cause the pimples to become inflamed and turn them into painful pimples.

What's the remedy?

Instead of cleansing your face two-three times a day, wash your face with water. You can also use home remedies containing turmeric and aloe vera, which can help your pimples to calm down and feel soothing on your skin.

Athlete's Foot

Have you ever faced itching or cracks on feet during monsoon? Well, it's the athlete's foot. It is a type of fungal disease that can cause itchy white blisters, and you might even experience burning sensations.

What's the remedy?

Whenever you come in contact with rainwater, clean your feet properly and keep them completely dry. Make sure to clean between the toes as well, or you can use antifungal powder. To avoid the athlete's foot, never wear wet socks or shoes for a longer period of time.

Hyperpigmentation

This monsoon-related skin allergy happens because of the overproduction of melanin. It causes dry patches to appear on your skin and cause irritation.

What's the remedy?

Never forget to wear sunscreen even if you can't see the sun clearly due to clouds. Some home remedies that can treat hyperpigmentation includes milk, tomato, apple and red onions. You can also consult your dermatologist if your hyperpigmentation is not going away.

Scabies

If your skin remains in contact with contaminated water for a long time, the mites can infect your skin and cause itching and rashes. Since it is contagious, it can spread through clothes, towels and personal belongings.

What's the remedy?

Some home remedies such as aloe vera, clove oil, and tea tree oil can be helpful to treat scabies, but if the condition persists, consult a specialist immediately.
