President Of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Party (DMK), MK Stalin, formed his government along with 33 cabinet members in Tamil Nadu for the sixth time. The oath of office and secrecy took place at the Raj Bhavan, Chennai and was administered by Governor Banwarilal Purohit. The ceremony was kept low-key due to the pandemic. This will be the first term of MK Stalin; the other five terms were held by his father and party legend, M Karunanidhi.

Black Fungus Cases In Covid Recovered Patients Reported In Delhi Hospitals

Mucormycosis or black fungus is a fungal infection that affects patients with transplants or immunodeficiency. Reportedly, Delhi hospitals are seeing the black fungus infection in patients who have been given steroids for covid-19 treatment combined with any comorbidities such as diabetes, kidney failure or cancer. India has reported 4 lakh+ covid cases in the last 24 hours.

Covid-Aid Arrives In India From Poland, Netherlands, And Switzerland

As India faces the wrath of the covid-19 pandemic, many countries have been sending emergency relief material to India. While Switzerland sent 600 oxygen concentrators, 50 ventilators, along with other medical supplies to the country, Netherland’s first consignment consisted of 449 ventilators, 100 oxygen concentrators and other medical supplies. Continuing the International collaboration, Poland sent 100 oxygen concentrators to India. Over 40 countries have extended their support to India.

After witnessing a surge in covid-19 cases over the past few days, Rajasthan Government has announced a lockdown in the entire state from 10th May (5 am) to 24th May (5 am). All marriage functions, MGNREGA works and interstate travel have been suspended. The government said that marriage functions in this period would be allowed only in courts or at home with the maximum presence of 11 people.
