Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Under CBI Custody


CBI Raided Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Residence 

Early on Friday morning, officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrived at the residence of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to investigate irregularities in the formation and execution of the Delhi Excise Policy of November 2021. According to sources, the CBI is conducting raids in seven states of the country, and as a part of its investigation, it raided the residence of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. As of now, the CBI has registered an FIR in this matter. A month earlier, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the irregularities in the Delhi government-framed excise policy. Following the orders, the federal agency raided Manish Sisodia's residence. Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia confirmed the raids through his Twitter account, where he tweeted, "CBI has arrived, and I welcome their arrival. I will cooperate with the investigation so that the truth comes out at the earliest. So far, multiple cases have been filed against me, but nothing has come out, and nothing will come out either. Congress Postpones Anti-Price Rally To September 4

The Congress party on Thursday rescheduled its mega rally against price rises from August 28 to September 4 because of the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the national capital.  As per the postponed schedule, ex-party president Rahul Gandhi will address the 'Mehangai Par Halla Bol' rally in Delhi on September 4. Covid-Bulletin: India Logs 15,754 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 98.58%

According to the latest data released by the union health ministry, India has registered 15,754 new covid-19 cases in the previous 24 hours. The active caseload of India currently stands at 1,01,830. Meanwhile, daily recoveries counted the figure of 15,220 in the last 24 hours. With this tally, the total recoveries have reached 4,36,85,535. The daily and weekly positivity rates stand at 3.47% and 3.90%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 88.18 crore covid-19 tests so far.
