Instagram Glitch: After Users Complaint of Losing Followers Mysteriously, Meta Clarifies It Has Fixed The Bug
Yesterday evening at around 6:30 PM, Instagram users started reporting issues with their accounts. Users in India and other parts of the world complained about losing followers and a mysterious account suspension error. While some users faced login issues, others faced server connection-related problems. After receiving several complaints about Instagram down, the company later confirmed that it was a bug that caused the outrage and that Instagram did not actively suspend accounts. Tweeting about the same, Instagram said: “We’ve resolved this bug now – it was causing people in different parts of the world to have issues accessing their accounts and caused a temporary change for some in number of followers. Sorry”. Though Meta said it has fixed the glitch, it has not clarified why users’ accounts were suspended last evening mysteriously. Notably, Instagram’s sibling WhatsApp also faced a major outage in India and other countries last week. Meta’s messaging platform was not functional for nearly two hours. If users are still facing problems with their Instagram account, ensure that you are using the latest version or reinstalling the app might help as well.
