Afghan Officials Announce Govt In Exile Under Ex-VP Amrullah Saleh

After the takeover of the Taliban over Afghanistan, former Afghan officials announced the continuation of the Afghan government in exile, which will be headed by the former Vice President Amrullah Saleh. An Afghan embassy in Swiss released a statement saying that the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is the legitimate government elected by the votes of the Afghan people, and no other government can replace the only legitimate government. The statement also read that after the escape of Ashraf Ghani, the government in exile will be led by Amrullah Saleh. The Khaama Press Agency reported that the statement is written by political leaders, but none of their names have been disclosed. Covid-Bulletin: India Registers 23,529 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 97.85% 

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, India registered 23,529 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload in the country currently stands at 2,77,020, constituting 0.82% of total covid-19 cases reported in the country so far. The active covid-19 tally is the lowest in 195 days. Meanwhile, daily recoveries continue to outnumber new covid-19 cases, with recording 28,718 fresh recoveries in the previous 24 hours. The total recoveries in the country currently stand at 3,30,14,898. The daily and weekly positivity rate currently stands at 1.56% and 1.74% respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 56.89 crore covid-19 tests so far. Rakesh Tikait: Government Is Lying To The Media That It's Open To Dialogue Over Agricultural Law

On Wednesday, Bhartiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait said that the central government is lying to the media that they are open for dialogue over the three controversial agricultural laws and wants to resolve ongoing farmer agitation. While addressing a press conference in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Rakesh Tikait said: "Government lies to media that it is open to dialogue, but farmers are not. They want to hold conditional dialogue in which farmers will not participate. They said farm laws would not be rolled back. It means they have already drafted the agreement, and farmers just have to sign it," "The biggest problem is of MSP in the country. We will raise this issue," he added. Captain Amarinder Singh Meets Home Minister Amit Shah; Discusses Farm Laws

Former Chief Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh recently visited Delhi and met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. After captain Amarinder Singh stepped down from the post of Chief Minister of Punjab, there are speculations of the Congress veteran joining the Bhartiya Janata Party. During the meeting with Amit Shah, Mr Singh discussed about the three farm laws and asked him to repeal the laws and guarantee minimum support price to farmers. The Punjab crisis worsened more after Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from the post of Punjab Congress Chief. On Wednesday morning, Mr Sidhu released a video message and said: "My fight is issue-based, and I have stood by it for a long time. I cannot compromise with my ethics, my moral authority. What I witness is a compromise with issues, agenda in Punjab.
