Bigg Boss 13 Winner Sidharth Shukla Passes Away, Aged 40 

Bigg Boss 13 winner and actor Sidharth Shukla has passed away due to cardiac arrest, aged 40. He was announced brought dead by the Cooper Hospital. Reportedly, Sidharth took some medicines before sleeping and did not wake up after that. However, the postmortem is being conducted and the body will be discharged soon. Sidharth Shukla was last seen in the 1st Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss OTT along with Shehnaaz Kaur Gill.

Covid-Bulletin: India Records A Surge In Active Covid-19 Cases

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 47,092 fresh covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. India's active caseload currently stands at 3,89,583, constituting 1.19% of the total covid-19 cases reported in the country. Meanwhile, the country has recorded 35,181 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,20,28,825. The daily and weekly positivity rate currently stands at 2.80% and 2.62% respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, India has conducted 52.48 crore covid-19 tests so far. On the vaccination front, the country has administered 66.30 crore covid-19 vaccine doses so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

Uttarakhand Government Announces Financial Aid For Hotel Industry Workers

The Uttarakhand government has announced a financial aid of Rs 2,000 that will be given to employees of restaurants, homestays, and hotels who are registered with the tourism department amid the covid-19 pandemic. On Thursday, the chief minister office informed that the amount would be distributed for five months through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). According to the release, assistance is being transferred to the accounts of the employees whose names are uploaded by the respective homestays, restaurants and hotels on the tourism department's portal. Announcing about the same, the CMO said: "This comes under the covid relief package announced in the tourism sector," 

Weather Update: Spell Of Rain Likely To Stop Over Delhi As Per IMD

According to the latest update from the Indian Meteorological Department, the spell of rain is likely to stop over the entire Delhi. Taking to Twitter, IMD tweeted: "Current cloud patch is over Delhi, it is moving northward, and it will cross Delhi region during next 02 hours. So current spell of rain very likely to stop over entire Delhi during next 02 hours," However, after the capital was hit by heavy rain on Thursday, a lot of routes were partially or completely waterlogged which caused heavy disruptions in traffic movement.

DCGI Grants Permission For Conducting Phase 2 & 3 Trials Of Corbevax On Children 

The Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has given a go-ahead for conducting phase 2 & 3 trials of Corbevax for children between 5 to 18 years of age, developed by Hyderabad based Biological E limited. However, the drug regulator has put some conditions. Meanwhile, the needle-free covid-19 vaccine, ZyCoV-D developed by Zydus Cadila, has received the emergency use authorization (EUA) to vaccinate children between 12-18 and is expected to be administered from early October. 

Anti-Taliban Forces Sustain Heavy Attacks In Panjshir  

On Wednesday, the Taliban called fighters to lay down their arms. Taking to Twitter, senior Taliban official Amir Khan Muttaqi said: "My brothers, we tried our best to solve the Panjshir problem with talks and negotiations... but unfortunately all in vain," The resistance group, National Resistance Front (NRF), comprises of anti-Taliban fighters and former Afghan security forces who have vowed to protect their enclaves from the Taliban group who is currently preparing to form a government in Afghanistan. The Panjshir valley falls around 80 kilometers north of the capital Kabul and is the centre of anti-Taliban forces. Bismillah Mohammadi, former Defence Minister of Afghanistan, said that the Taliban forces attacked Panjshir but were defeated, claiming that 65 Taliban were wounded and 34 killed.

Pavitra Rishta 2.0, starring Ankita Lokhande and Shaheer Sheikh as Archana and Manav, has managed to recreate the magic that the original Zee TV show created; however, fans are terribly missing Sushant Singh Rajput as Manav. The show is set to premiere on 15th September 2021 only on Zee5. Sharing the trailer, Ankita wrote: "Pyaar aur Parivaar ke beech mein Archana aur manav kisse chunenge? After the news of Nia Sharma visiting the Bigg Boss OTT house came in, fans are waiting to see Nia create her magic in the Bigg Boss OTT house. Now, Bigg Boss 14 fame Nikki Tamboli is also set to enter the Karan Johar show this weekend as a special guest. As per reports, Nikki will enter the show and play some games with the contestants. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
