Char Dham Yatra Halted As Uttarakhand Receives Heavy Rainfall

After heavy rainfall lashed parts of Uttarakhand, Char Dham pilgrims who are currently at Haridwar and Rishikesh have been asked to not proceed until the weather gets clear. Due to the prediction of heavy rainfall, the operation of vehicles has been suspended for Himalayan temples temporarily. On Monday, 3 workers from Nepal died who were staying near Lansdowne and got buried alive after rubble flowed down from a field due to heavy rain. Meanwhile, passenger vehicles are not being allowed to go to Chandrabhaga bridge, Tapovan, Lakshman Jhoola and Muni-Ki-Reti Bhadrakali barriers. Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami also took weather updates and requested Char Dham pilgrims to defer their Char Dham Yatra for 2 days. On Sunday, around 4,000 yatris from a total of 6000 in Kedarnath had to return due to bad weather conditions. Covid-Bulletin: India Registers 13,058 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 98.14%

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, India has registered 13,058 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 1,83,118, which is the lowest in 227 days and constitutes for less than 1% of total covid-19 cases reported in the country. Meanwhile, daily recoveries continue to outnumber fresh covid-19 cases, with recording 19,470 recoveries in the previous 24 hours. The daily and weekly positivity rate currently stands at 1.11% and 1.36% respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, India has conducted 59.31 crore covid-19 tests so far. J&K Government Signs MoU With Dubai For Super Speciality Hospitals, Industrial Parks

Recently, the Jammu & Kashmir government signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Dubai government for IT towers, multi-purpose towers, medical college, super-speciality hospital, industrial parks, real estate developments and logistics. Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: BJP Leader Sumit Jaiswal Arrested For Mowing Down Farmers With SUV

In the recent development in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence incident, the UP police have arrested BJP leader Sumit Jaiswal who was seen inside the SUV car that mowed down farmers. Senior Police Official Prashant Kumar said: "Accused Sumit Jaiswal, Shishupal, Nandan Singh Bisht and Satya Prakash Tripathi have been arrested by Lakhimpur Kheri Police and SWAT team of Crime branch. Licensed revolver and three bullets were recovered from Satya Prakash Tripathi and seized," In a viral video, local BJP leader Sumit Jaiswal can be seen escaping from the leading SUV car that crushed the farmers. However, Mr Jaiswal earlier filed a complaint against the farmers alleging that his driver, 2 BJP workers and his friend were beaten to death after their vehicle lost control due to stone-pelting by the farmers.
