Govt Releases Vaccination Guidelines For Children Aged 15-18

On Monday, the central government released official covid-19 vaccination guidelines for children aged between 15-18. The government also released guidelines of precautionary doses for frontline workers and people aged above 60 with co-morbidities. On Sunday night, while addressing the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the government will open the covid-19 vaccination process for children from 3rd January 2022, and booster shots will be administered from 10th January 2022 for the aforementioned categories. The covid-19 vaccination guidelines for children says that only Bharat Biotech's Covaxin will be administered for vaccinating children in the age group of 15-18. Covaxin is the second covid-19 vaccine to get the DGCI nod for use among those aged below 18 years after the needle-free vaccine ZyCoV-D. As per the booster shots, frontline workers fully vaccinated healthcare workers and people aged above 60 and with co-morbidities can register for booster shots or precautionary doses from 10th January 2022. However, doctors' advice is mandatory for receiving booster shots for those aged 60 or above and with co-morbidities. In booster shots guidelines, the government also mentioned that the booster shots could only be taken nine months after the second dose has been administered. All those eligible for covid-19 vaccination can register on the CoWIN app. The registration for booster shots can be done online or on-site. The new guidelines will come into effect from 3rd January 2022 and will be reviewed by the centre from time to time.  https://youtu.be/0TC-nueD4ww
