Taliban Has The Desire To Join China-Pakistan Economic Corridor

On Monday, the Taliban's spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid said that the group has a desire to join the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project. He also mentioned that the group's senior leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, is soon to have a meeting with Pakistan's ISI Chief Lt General Faiz Hameed. These developments came at a time when there are numerous reports that suggest that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has supported the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan. Now, the Taliban is showing interest in China's most ambitious project China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which aims to expand Beijing's influence across Central and South Asia and counter India's and the USA's influence. Covid-Bulletin: India Records 31,000+ Active Covid-19 Cases 

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, India has registered 31,222 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The country's active caseload currently stands at 3,92,864, constituting 1.19% of total covid-19 cases reported in the country so far. Meanwhile, daily recoveries have outnumbered active covid-19 cases by a huge margin as 42,942 more patients recovered from covid-19 in the previous 24 hours. The daily and weekly positivity rate stands at 2.05% and 2.56% respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 53.31 crore covid-19 tests so far. MHA: No Afghan Will Leave India Without MHA's Approval

According to the officials of the Union Home Ministry, no Afghan who is residing in India will be asked to leave the country without MHA's approval. This has been done given the uncertain situation in Afghanistan. Speaking about the same, a Home Ministry official said: "No Afghan national will be asked to leave India by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) without prior approval of the Home Ministry, and such cases will be referred to the MHA by the FRRO," The central government has extended the visas of all categories which is granted to citizens of other countries including Afghanistan on gratis basis till 30th September 2021. Any foreign national having such a visa does not have to submit an application to the FRRO to extend their visas. 

Heavy Security Deployed In Karnal Ahead Of Kisan Mahapanchayat

As the Kisan Mahapanchayat will be taking place today at Haryana's Karnal district to protest against the three agricultural laws, heavy security has been deployed in the area to ban large gatherings. The farmers have planned a 'gherao' at the mini-secretariat due to the August 28 lathi charge. On Monday, the Haryana government announced the suspension of internet and SMS services in areas including Kaithal, Jind, Kurukshetra, Karnal and Panipat from 12:30 PM today so as to avoid the spread of inflammatory material and rumours. The state government has also put in section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code in the Karnal district of Haryana. Speaking about the Mahapanchayat, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said: "Everyone is allowed to raise their voices and to hold peaceful protests in a democracy. Reports: South Korea Tests Its Own Submarine-Launched Missile

According to reports, North Korea has developed a submarine-launched ballistic missile to defend itself from nuclear-armed North Korea. Last week, South Korea's Agency for Defense Development carried underwater ejection tests of the SLBM, which has been developed locally and fitted with six vertical launching tubes. Only handful of countries in the world have successfully developed an SLBM (submarine-launched ballistic missile), and now, South Korea has also become a part of that list.
