Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: Congress Leaders Meet Victims' Families

On Wednesday evening, Congress leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, went to Lakhimpur Kheri and met family members of Lovepreet, a farmer who was killed during the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Along with Congress leaders, Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh and Punjab also met the victim's family. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi alleged that Uttar Pradesh police asked him to go in a police vehicle instead of a private vehicle. On Wednesday, during a press conference, Rahul Gandhi said: "Opposition's job is to build pressure. When we build pressure, that leads to investigation and action. In Hathras (rape case), we built pressure, and that led to an investigation. If we hadn't gone there, that wouldn't have happened," Farmers have said that if Ashish Mishra is not arrested, they will intensify the protest. However, the Uttar Pradesh government has set up a panel to probe the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.  https://twitter.com/RahulGandhi/status/1445840135782866946 https://twitter.com/RahulGandhi/status/1445798633459306497 https://twitter.com/RahulGandhi/status/1445683251000057856

RBI To Release Monetary Policy Tomorrow: What To Expect?

Since May 2020, the Reserve Bank of India has maintained a repo rate at 4%, a record low rate, and it also took an off-policy route to let the economy recover from the shock of the coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday, RBI governor Shaktikanta Das said that India has to promote medium-term investments and sound financial reforms to seek sustainable growth after the global pandemic is wiped out.  https://twitter.com/RBI/status/1445969638282579971
