PM Modi Unveiled National Emblem Cast On Top of The New Parliament Building


On Monday, July 11, 2022, PM Modi unveiled the cast of the national emblem on the roof of the new Parliament building. According to sources, the cast is made up of bronze, whose height is 6.5 m and weight is 9,500 kg.  The sources further added that the cast would be placed at the top of the central foyer of the new Parliament building. To support the emblem cast, engineers have designed a steel structure which weighs around 6,500 kg. While unveiling the cast of the national emblem, the PM interacted with the workers (Shramjeevis) involved in the construction work.  https://twitter.com/narendramodi/status/1546410099144540160 During the interaction, the PM inquired workers about the issues they faced during the Covid-19-induced lockdowns and whether they got vaccination on time. While interacting with Shramjeevis, the PM appreciated their efforts and asked them whether they are constructing a building or history? The workers enthusiastically replied: “History”  After the ceremony, the PM tweeted: “I had a wonderful interaction with the Shramjeevis who have been involved in the making of the Parliament. We are proud of their efforts and will always remember their contribution to our nation.” https://twitter.com/narendramodi/status/1546410302899642368 In the unveiling ceremony, the PM was joined by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in a religious ceremony. 

A Wave of Joy on Worker's Face

After knowing about PM Modi's visit to the new parliament site, a layer of joy ran onto the faces of the workers. The workers said they were extremely excited to see PM Modi. The prime minister's visit drew a lot of inspiration for them. One of the workers even linked the visit to Lord Ram's visit to Shabri's kutiya, a reference to the epic Ramayana. 

Progress Report of New Parliament Building

According to officials, the unveiling of the national emblem cast has added a new milestone in the progress of the central vista project. The officials have maintained that the project will accomplish very soon, and the winter session of the Parliament will be held in the newly constructed Parliament building. 

Importance of the National Emblem 

The national emblem is a matter of pride for every Indian. It is because this holds a special status in both the past and the present state of India. The symbol exudes pride, confidence, power, and courage from its four-sided lion's face. The emblem is adapted from Ashoka's Lion Capital located at Sarnath. With the unveiling of its cast in the new parliament building, the lion emblem is all set to bring new energy to the hearts and minds of the countrymen.
