Prime Minister Launches Multiple Projects In Devbhoomi Uttarakhand

PM Modi On A Day Long Visit To Uttarakhand To Launch Multiple Projects Aimed At Reviving Tourism

In a major step to boost tourism in the state, PM Modi is on a day-long visit to Uttarakhand. As per his schedule, he first visited the holy shrine of Kedarnath to offer prayers to the deity. At the site, he laid the foundation stone for a rope-way project from Gauri Kund to Kedarnath. The 1267 crore project aims to reduce the trekking duration from 6-7 hours to only half an hour. Similarly, PM Modi will also visit major tourist attractions of Uttarakhand to launch different projects, including a rope-way from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, the widening of the Mana-Mana Pass National Highway, and the widening of Joshi Math- Malari National Highway. These projects are aimed to attract tourists from different parts of the country, besides reducing the travel time to holy shrines located on the sites. It is important to mark that Uttarakhand earns its revenue mainly from its tourism, and to increase his state's revenue share, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami was in regular talks with the centre, and the recent developments are fruits of those efforts.  Notably, it is explicit that the central government is looking forward to promoting cultural tourism in the country, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the Mahakal corridor in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh and today, he is on a visit to launch more projects. https://twitter.com/narendramodi/status/1583335842290237442

With her resignation, the country is about to get its third PM in three months. Liz Truss, who took charge of the country's top ministerial position, decided to step out of her post as she failed to fulfil the promises that she made to the people of Great Britain. Some of her failed promises involve her budgetary plans that deeply rattled the markets and led to the exit of the Chancellor only a few days back. The exiting PM stood on the same deck where she took oath as the PM only 45 days back. She took over the charge when the country was going through summer and early autumn of political chaos and economic turmoil. Addressing the nation, Truss said, "I entered the office at a time of significant international and economic instability, with families and businesses worried about how they would pay their bills". She added, "I recognize through given this situation, I cannot deliver the mandate on which the Conservative Party elected me".  Now, she will retain in office until the appointment of her successor, and some reports suggest ex-PM Boris Johnson is also on the contender's list for the election.
