Republic Day 2022: Celebrations At Rajpath Begins Today

Ahead of 26th January 2022, a full dress parade rehearsal was held at Rajpath on Sunday. India will be celebrating the 73rd year of Republic Day on 26th January 2022. The central government informed that instead of 24th January, the celebrations would begin from 23rd January to mark the birth anniversary of late freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The dress rehearsal commenced from Vijay Chowk on the route towards Red Fort. This year, out of 21 tableaux, only 12 of selected states and union territories, including Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh will be showcased on Republic Day. The same has been done due to limited time and space in order to follow covid-19 guidelines. The Indian Navy's marching contingent will consist of 96 personnel and three platoon commanders. The Defence Research And Development Organisation (DRDO) will display two tableaux, with showcasing indigenously developed sensors, weapons and electronic warfare systems for light combat aircraft (LCA) Tejas and air-independent propulsion (AIP) systems for Indian submarines. At the Republic Day Parade, The Army will showcase a mounted column of cavalry, 14 mechanised columns, six marching contingents, and a flypast advanced light helicopters of its aviation wing. The mechanised columns of the Army will feature one PT-76 tank, one centurion tank, two MBT Arjun MK-I tanks, one OT-62 TOPAS armoured personnel carrier, one BMP-I infantry fighting vehicle and two BMP-II infantry fighting vehicles. As per the Haryana tableau, a life-size replica of Olympian Neeraj Chopra will be showcased in a javelin throwing posture depicting the theme 'Haryana-Number One in Sports'. While Uttar Pradesh's tableau will feature a replica of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Gujarat's tableau will showcase the massacre of 1,200 tribal freedom fighters of Sabarkantha district by the British.  https://youtu.be/6VYpYPGPBrY

Covid-Bulletin: India Logs 300000+ Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 93.07% 

According to the latest data released by the union health ministry, India has recorded 3,06,064 new covid-19 cases. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 22,49,335. Meanwhile, the nation has registered 2,43,495 recoveries in the previous 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,68,04,145. The daily and weekly positivity rates currently stand at 20.75% and 17.03%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 71.69 crore covid-19 tests so far. Prime Minister Modi Unveils Hologram Of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

On Sunday, prime minister Narendra Modi unveiled the hologram of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at India Gate. A grand statue of Netaji will be placed under a canopy where a statue of King George V stood till its removal in 1968. Till last week, the Amar Jawan Jyoti flame was flickering in front of the empty canopy. However, the flame has been merged with the eternal flame at the National War Memorial. Netaji's statue will be made in black granite and developed by a team of artists headed by the National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi. The government said that until the statue is completed, the hologram will be switched on at sunset every day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conferred the Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabhandhan Puraskar for disaster management for 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
