After the winning the T20I series, India is ready to face England in Pune : IND VS ENG 1ST ODI
After securing a win at the T20I series, India is now preparing to increase its chances of winning against the World Champions England in the 1st ODI. (IND VS ENG)
India’s Shikhar Dhawan will open the match with Rohit Sharma in the 1st ODI in the three-match one-day series, said Indian captain Virat Kohli.
“When it comes to One-day Cricket, I don’t think there’s any issues or doubts over Rohit and Shikhar opening together. They’ve been amazing for us in the past few years, so we’re going to start with that,” said Kohli.
For the three-ODI series, England will play without three of their heroes – Jofra Archer (injured), Chris Woakes (rested), and Joe Root (rested) which might affect the strength of the England team.
Some important players are also missing from India, like Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammad Shami. There are chances that Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav may finally have their ODI debuts this time.
Though both India and England are missing some crucial players in their respective teams but there are individuals who have the opportunity to shine, a chance they might not have got otherwise.
In fact, England captain Eoin Morgan is set to give the opportunity to the players who did not feature in the T20I series, and this strategy may work in England’s favour.
The 1st ODI of the IND VS ENG ODI series will be played in Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. It is interesting to note that India has not played any ODI in Pune since the year 2018 when they lost to West Indies Team.
The match will be played on 23rd March 2021 (Tuesday) and scheduled to begin at 1:30 PM (Local Time) and 8:00 AM (UK Time).
The Star Sports Network will broadcast the ODI match on Television or you can also watch the Live match at Disney+Hotstar.
