IPL Update: Rajasthan Royals Clinch A Victory Against Delhi Capitals

Rajasthan Royals have got back in track after losing their first match against Punjab Kings. Royals have been in the winning position against Punjab Kings in the last two overs of the game. However, they have not been able to get past the big total set by Punjab at the end. In the second match against Delhi Capitals, the fans of Rajasthan Royals have almost given up their hope at one point of time in the run chase. However, a brilliant inning of Chris Morris has helped them to get over the line. Delhi Capitals' team management will certainly feel disappointed after this defeat. Few decisions taken by their new captain Rishabh Pant, will certainly be questioned. Ravichandran Ashwin has been bowling quite well in the middle overs. At that point of time, two left handers of Rajasthan Royals have been there at the crease. Rishabh Pant could have finished the quota of Ravichandran Ashwin. Instead of that, he has gone with Marcus Stoinis. Marcus Stoinis has conceded 15 runs in his one over. In a small run chase, these mistakes can prove to be huge. The management of Delhi Capitals has decided to drop Shimron Hetmyer and Kagiso Rabada has come in the side. They have gone with a combination of three overseas fast bowler and one overseas all rounder. This is also quite odd as they are missing their former captain Shreyas Iyer in this tournament. So, there is not much firepower in the batting lineup. The batting unit is totally dependent on two openers and Rishabh Pant. There is always an uncertainty over Ajinkya Rahane in this format of the game. The management has backed him enough over the last two years. However, his performance has not been overwhelming except one or two games. Delhi Capitals have Steve Smith in their squad. Smith can change the course of the match anytime and he is an impact player. In addition, he can also help the young captain Rishabh Pant while taking some crucial on-field decisions. Tom Curran has not done enough justice to his place in the first two games. So, the management might go with one experienced Indian pacer like Ishant Sharma or Umesh Yadav in the next match. Rajasthan Royals will not get the service of Ben Stokes in the remaining part of the season. David Miller has come in the side and the South African batsman has played a brilliant innings to keep Royals' hope alive in this match. After that, it has been a Chris Morris show at Wankhede. He has scored 36 runs in 18 balls to secure the win of Rajasthan Royals. Earlier, Jaidev Unadkat has taken three crucial wickets of Delhi Capitals in the powerplay. Rishabh Pant has tried to solidify the innings with a half-century in 30 balls. However, he has got run out. Lalit Yadav, Tom Curran, Chris Woakes, and Kagiso Rabada have helped to get the scoreline close to 150. Rajasthan Royals have also lost few wickets in quick succession in the early part of the innings. Miller and Morris have come to their rescue from that point. Rajasthan Royals' camp will certainly be boosted up after this win and they will wish to keep the momentum in their favor.
