IPL Update: The Match Between Mumbai Indians And Punjab Kings

Mumbai Indians will face Punjab Kings at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday. The contest is certainly going to be interesting as both teams are coming with a defeat in the previous game. Mumbai Indians have won two matches so far in this tournament. They have been beaten by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match of the tournament. After the defeat against Delhi Capitals in the previous game, the time has come for Mumbai Indians to make a strong comeback in this match.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings have lost back to back three games after a narrow win against Rajasthan Royals in the first match. They have tried a different team combination in the previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, it has not worked for them. It will be interesting to see how they field their side against Mumbai Indians.

Status Of The Teams:

Mumbai Indians:

The team management of Mumbai Indians do not like to make much changes throughout the whole tournament. However, the middle order is not clicking for them so far. The slowish nature of the wicket is certainly not suiting their batsmen. Hardik Pandya has failed to score in the first four matches of the tournament. He is a key player for Mumbai Indians and the team management will expect a better performance from him in the rest of the tournament.

Probable Starting XI:

Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chahar, Jayant Yadav, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah.

Punjab Kings:

Moises Henriques and Fabian Allen have replaced Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith in the starting XI of Punjab Kings against Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, their batsmen have failed to show their class in Chennai. Nicolas Pooran is not getting runs with the bat and that will be a concern for the team management at this moment. Jhye Richardson might make a comeback in the side in this match in place of Moises Henriques.

Probable Starting XI:

KL Rahul (C & WK), Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran, Shahrukh Khan, Fabian Allen, Jhye Richardson, Murugan Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh.
