Who is Jonathan Taylor, Star Player of Indianapolis Colts in NFL

As per ESPN sources, The Indianapolis Colts, an NFL team, were unable to find a fair-value offer that led to no trading of Jonathan Taylor, all-pro running back, for them on Tuesday. And due to this, Jonathan Taylor will be on a physically unable to perform (PUP) list. It means Taylor will not play in the first four games of this NFL season, or the National Football League season. And this will make Taylor miss games at the Houston Texans against Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens against the Los Angeles Rams.

The NFL’s October 31 trade deadline would be the next best opportunity for the Indianapolis Colts to have a fruitful deal with Jonathan Taylor. In the case of no deal by that time, the Colts could try to buy him again in the offseason by keeping the franchise tag on him. In the last week, Taylor with his representatives got permission from the Colts to have his engagements with other teams. The deadline was 4 pm on Tuesday. In spite of being a deadline for Taylor, it was a deadline for the Colts too. Neither Jonathan Taylor found another team nor the Indianapolis Colts made a deal with him for the upcoming NFL season.

What Does It Mean to Stay on the PUP List?

Taylor’s staying on the PUP list was the biggest sports news on Tuesday. Being on the physically unable to perform list (PUP list) means Jonathan Taylor will miss the first four games of the current NFL season. Some might think Taylor’s injury is the primary reason for not being in  the active 53-man roster. Last year too, Taylor was absent from six matches due to his right ankle injury. He went for a surgery that was successful according to him. However, he is not available even after a period of seven months. Some still think that being in the PUP list is a way to be in the hold in without having any fine. Further, it would enable him to receive his payment. As per the contract, Taylor is in the final year so he would be physically fit and active to play for his team. Many fans agree that he cannot be in the PUP list for the entire season of a year. Wait and see what happens.
