Latest News On West Bengal Exams Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education issued a notification on 30 November 2021. It notified all the state's institutions to perform a 50-mark test for every theoretical paper for Class XII students by December 31, 2021. Schools are free to set their own schedules.  The latest news on West-Bengal-Exams says that next year, the Class XII students will take their Higher Secondary board exams from April 2, 2022 to April 20, 2022. Class 12 entrants will sit for their exams in their own schools, breaking the previous norms. The President of the WBBSE said that the 'Madhyamik' or 10th standard examination will be held from March 7 to 16, 2022 in approximately 4800 venues. According to sources, the WBCHSC offline Exam for the 12th standard, known as 'Uchcha Madhyamik,' will be held between April 2 and 20, 2022. Unlike the CBSE and CISCE, the West Bengal Board is expected to only take board exams in a single venture. CISCE and CBSE have separated boards into two phases due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The first term exams will be administered in November-December. It will consist solely of multiple-choice questions (MCQ). The West Bengal Board, on the other hand, is likely to follow the same pattern as before. However, both WBBSE and WBCHSE are yet to make an official declaration about how the exams will be conducted or when they will be held. It is because they are awaiting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's approval. Still, they are optimistic about their proposals regarding West Bengal Offline Exam in one sitting. As per WB education officials, Central Board can conduct the ICSE and CBSE examinations in 2 stages. In West Bengal, the number of pupils in their jurisdiction is fewer than WB aspirants. It will be impossible for both state boards to conduct an offline exam in two stages. The suggestion, as well as the blueprint for conducting the examination, has supposedly been forwarded to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Both boards have outlined in the proposal how they will conduct the exam in one sitting. Also, they have ensured adherence to the Covid-19 protocols throughout the conduct of the exams. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the state's 'Madhyamik' and 'Uchcha Madhyamik' examinations were canceled last year. The results were announced after the boards devised evaluation methodologies based on the merits of students' past performance. West Bengal Chief Minister has the sincere intent of regularizing the education system. It is clear when she had decided that schools would reopen on November 16 for classes’ 9 to 12.  Stay tuned for the latest updates on West Bengal Offline Exam.
