A story of struggle to Stardom: Kapil Sharma

Hailed as the comedy king, Kapil Sharma has had a life full of struggle and difficulties. Born on 2nd April 1981 (as Kapil Punj) in Amritsar, Punjab. Kapil’s dad was a head constable in Punjab Police, and his mother, a homemaker. The actor completed his graduation from Hindu College, Amritsar.  Kapil’s initial struggle started back in 1997, when his father was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2007, which led to a challenging financial situation. The actor started teaching theatre in his college days to pay for his college fees, and he also did Jagratas at night to earn a living for himself and his family.  “My father had got very unwell at that time, and I requested my principal if I could teach theatre to earn money. That's when I learned a lot as a teacher, as you learn a lot from students while teaching. I used to do histrionics, and everyone would love it, so I somehow wanted to just get into the 'Laughter Challenge'.” [caption id="attachment_4644" align="alignnone" width="650"]kapil sharma india.com Image Credits: India.com[/caption] The actor was short of money but not short of talent and hard work, which helped him achieve what he has now. Kapil auditioned for The Laughter Challenge show in Amritsar, but luck was not on his side, and the makers rejected him. As he had full determination to participate in the show, he went to Delhi to give auditions again, and he got selected.  Not only that, but He also went on to win the show and gave all the money to his sister to buy an engagement ring, for which he earlier didn’t have any money.  After this, there was no turning back for Kapil Sharma. He also took part in a famous reality comedy show, Comedy Circus, and won it for 6 consecutive years. He also hosted shows like Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and Chhote Miyaan.  Kapil invested all his money and launched his own production house K9 productions and started his blockbuster show titled Comedy Nights with Kapil. The show made Kapil Sharma an overnight star.  [caption id="attachment_4643" align="alignnone" width="1024"]kapil sharma IMDb kapil sharma IMDb[/caption] No matter what anyone did the whole weekend but at 9:30 PM, every family in India had only one show to watch, and that’s Comedy Nights with Kapil. From Amitabh Bachchan to The Great Khali, every celebrity visited the show.  “There are definitely many physical struggles we endure while working on a TV show. However, all the pains and the struggles disappear when we receive the love that we do from millions out there.” The actor also marked his Bollywood debut with Kis Kisko Pyar Karoon in 2015, and the movie performed decently at the box office with mixed reviews on Kapil’s acting ability. The actor faced some setbacks for his show but came back with a bang with his next venture, the Kapil Sharma Show in 2016. Life again threw difficulties at Kapil when the actor reportedly went into depression, and people thought that the comedian would never be able to make anybody laugh again. Kapil fought back and emerged victorious. The actor faced his share of controversies and criticism, but he rose above it.  [caption id="attachment_4645" align="alignnone" width="750"]kapil sharma instagram Image Credits:Instagram/Kapil Sharma[/caption] On 12th December 2018, Kapil Sharma married Ginni Chatrath in Jalandhar, Punjab.
