Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi Starrer Chehre Release Date Postponed Due to a Spike in Covid-19 Cases

Due to a spike in Covid-19 cases, the makers have decided to postpone the release of the film. Actor Emraan Hashmi took to Twitter to announce the news to all his fans who were waiting to see him on the silver screen again: https://twitter.com/emraanhashmi/status/1376809925079339009 The actor tweeted, “The well-being of our very own audience is of utmost importance to us. We are extremely humbled by the love and support that we have received this far. See you in the cinemas soon. Until then, stay safe - Team Chehre.”  Many movies got released on OTT platforms like Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, etc, due to the closure of theatres during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Slowly, the theatres were opening with 50% capacity, but the second wave of Covid-19 has started hitting the country, and states are now imposing strict guidelines to contain the spread of the virus.  Makers of the film have decided to bring ‘chehre’ to the audience through theatres so that they can experience the complete thrill of the film. The new release date will be announced soon.  This is not the first time that Chehre’s release date has been changed. The film was earlier going to release in July 2020, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the makers deferred the film’s release. The mystery thriller film is directed by Rumi Jafry and stars Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi, Annu Kapoor, Dhritiman Chatterjee, and Rhea Chakraborty.  Television actress Krystle D’Souza will make her Bollywood debut with Chehre.  The film’s trailer was released on 18th March and received a positive response from the audience. The trailer also had Rhea Chakraborty, who is finally making a comeback in the entertainment industry after being involved in a series of controversies regarding the suicide case of her ex-boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
