Drishyam 2: Ajay Devgn Reprises His Role As The Mastermind Vijay Salgoankar
Taking to social media, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn announced that the filming of the crime thriller Drishyam 2 has begun. The actor is all set to reprise his role as the clever Vijay Salgoankar, who will go to every length and breadth to save his family. The Hindi version of the super hit Malayalam Language movie of the same name was released in 2015. The second sequel of the Mohanlal-starrer Malayalam film was released on Amazon Prime Video in February 2021.
The first part of Drishyam featured Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta in pivotal roles. The sequel to the film will also have the same star cast. Drishyam narrates the story of a simple family of four whose lives turn upside down after an unfortunate incident that takes place with Vijay’s elder daughter. When Vijay Salgoankar learns the truth, he decides to create a mysterious and confusing web of lies to cover the truth and protect his family.
The second part of the film, Drishyam 2, will begin seven years after the incident. Drishyam 2 will test Vijay Salgoankar’s character and his will to protect his family. Ever since the release of the first part, the multidimensional character of Vijay played by Ajay Devgn, received applauds and appreciation from both fans and critics. The character created both negative and positive impacts on the audience. The plot of the film is so strong that we still remember what happened on 2nd October and 3rd October. Well, we can’t wait for Ajay Devgn to be back as Vijay, taking us on a roller coaster and mind-bending ride.
Drishyam 2 is being directed by Abhishek Pathak, who has earlier directed films like Ujada Chaman and produced films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Raid. Talking about directing an official remake of a successful franchise, Abhishek Pathak said: “It’s exciting to retell a story from your own perspective and vision by divergent visuals in the most justified yet extraordinary way. The setting and the mood of the film uplifts the very essence of the crux, making it gripping from the very beginning,”
The second part of Drishyam is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Krishnan Kumar and co-produced by Sanjeev Joshi, Aditya Chowksey and Shiv Chanana. The filming of Drishyam 2 has begun in Mumbai. However, the film will be extensively shot in Goa in the following months.
