Like Independence Day last year, we have a weekend just before Independence Day 2023. And a large number of movies in theaters and on OTT platforms and TV shows are going to be released. Gadar 2
Sunny Deol as Tara Singh and Ameesha Patel as Shakeena are back together in Gadar 2, the sequel of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The Movie, Gadar 2, was released on 11 August 2023. According to Taran Adarsh, a box office analyst, around 1, 37, 894 tickets of this film have been sold before its release. On the release date, the national multiplex channels like Cinepolis, Inox, and PVR, are almost full. You may need to wait a little to get a ticket to enjoy this movie.
OMG 2 (Oh My God 2)
Released on 11 August 2023, OMG 2 is just opposite to its original release, Oh My God, in 2012. It is a comedy based on sex education, which is socially relevant and entertaining. In this film, Akshay Kumar is as Lord Shiva. Other stars playing different roles are Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. As per Amit Ray, the director of OMG 2, the film has been under the radar since its poster release. It is a movie you can watch with your friends or colleagues, but not with your family members.
Taali
A fan of Sushmita Sen! She is coming to entertain you with her web series, Taali. In this web series, Sushmita Sen is as Shreegauri Sawant who lives in Mumbai and is a transgender activist. Shreegauri Sawant was a petitioner in the case of NALSA (National Legal Services Authority in 2013. The case was filed in the Supreme Court to give recognition to transgender community. This web series will release on 15 August on Jio Cinema.
Heart of Stone
The movie, Heart of Stone, is a good one to watch Alia Bhats debut in Hollywood. With other stars/actors such as Jamie Dornan and Gadot, this spy thriller will stream on 11 August on Netflix. You can include this Hollywood film in your entertainment list during Independence Day.
Guns & Gulaabs
Guns & Gulaabs, starring Rajkummar Rao, is an ideal film to watch if you want to go back to the 1990s. The film has other actors - Adarsh Gaurav, Dulquer Salmaan, and T J Bhanu. It will entertain you with chaos, crime, and love-struck misfits. It will be released on Netflix on 18 August.
