Jersey Trailer Out: Shahid Kapoor Fans Calls It Kabir Singh 2.0

The makers of Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey has released the much-awaited trailer. The Hindi remake of the National Award-winning Telegu Movie of the same name, Jersey, explores the story of a failed cricketer who is trying hard to meet his son's expectations. Shahid Kapoor essays the role of a former cricketer who was once the superstar of the field but, due to some unknown reason, had to leave the sport.  The Jersey trailer opens up with a jobless man who is trying to fulfill his son's dream of owning a Jersey, and he tries to ask her wife for money. Female actor Mrunal Thakur is seen essaying the role of Shahid Kapoor's wife in the film. The Hindi version is also directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who directed the original Telegu film. In the Jersey trailer, you will get nostalgic vibes from Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh. In fact, fans are calling Jersey Kabir Singh 2.0. Well, halfway through the Jersey trailer, Shahid is offered a job as an assistant coach; however, he seems reluctant to join the field. The trailer then gives us glimpses of Shahid's life as a cricketer. However, the reason for his exit from the game is kept under the umbrella to maintain the suspense.  Shahid Kapoor's only motto in life is to keep his son happy and stand up to his expectations. However, whenever Kapoor enacts pain or aggression, we are transferred back to the Kabir Singh zone. It seems like Shahid has to himself come out of the Kabir Singh zone. Talking about the film, Shahid Kapoor once said: "I watched Jersey before Kabir Singh. The time when I saw it, I was unhappy. I used to think where my career would go, what I will do next. So, I could relate to the story of Jersey, which is about late success. It's about a man who finds glory at a time when people retire," Well, it would be interesting to see Shahid Kapoor back in action after two years, especially he steps into the shoes of Allu Arjun, who played the lead role in the original Telegu film. Along with Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, Jersey also features Pankaj Kapoor. Jersey is surely going to take you on an emotional ride, and Shahid-Pankaj Kapur endearing connection is all for praises!
