Shahrukh’s first release in 2004 was Farah khan’s directorial debut ‘Main Hoon Na’. The film revolved around college based romance, drama, and it also starred Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan, Amrita Rao and Sunil Shetty in lead roles.
Back in 2004, the film’s story and music made quite an impression at the box office, while it became the second highest grosser of the year, earning Rs. 73.3 crore. Notably, the film’s budget was Rs. 25 crore.
The romantic tragedy, SRK’s Veer Zara was a grand love story of star-crossed lovers starring Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee, Boman Irani, Majoj Bajpayee, Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini. The film was directed by the legendary director Yash Chopra.
The movie had almost hit a century at the box office while it earned Rs. 97.64 crore on the making budget of Rs. 23 crore. The film was not just loved in India but it got incredible recognition overseas.
Ashutosh Gowariker directorial Swades is known to be one of the best Patriotic films produced in India. In addition, it is also known as one of the finest films of Shah Rukh Khan’s career.
In addition to Shah Rukh, Swades starred Gayatri Joshi, Rajesh Vivek, Kishori Balal and Dayashankar Pandey. In 2004, Swades was the seventh highest grosser and it collected Rs 34.64 crores on a budget of Rs. 22 crores.
