Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia Will Be Arrested By The CBI Soon, Claims Aam Aadmi Party

On Sunday, the Aam Aadmi Party claimed that Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia will be arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today. Sisodia had tweeted earlier that he has been summoned by the central agency at 11 AM today. "CBI raided my house for 14 hours. My bank locker was searched, they did not find anything. They did not find anything in my village either. Now they have called me to the CBI headquarters at 11 am tomorrow. I will go and cooperate fully. Satyamev Jayate," Sisodia had tweeted. Linking the CBI move to the upcoming Assembly Elections in Gujarat, AAP national spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said that Manish Sisodia would be arrested on Monday itself. "Tomorrow, when Manish ji will be arrested, it will not be about the excise policy, but about Gujarat polls," said Mr Bharadwaj. The AAP has launched a rigorous poll campaign in Gujarat in an attempt to throw the Bhupendrabhai Patel-led BJP government. AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have been regularly visiting Gujarat over the past two months. The Delhi Deputy CM has been on the CBI radar in connection to the now-rolled-back Delhi liquor excise policy. The central agency has said that the Delhi excise scam was worth Rs 10,000 crore, allegedly done by Manish Sisodia. The CBI and ED have raided at least 500 locations in connection to the Delhi excise scam. https://twitter.com/ndtvvideos/status/1581879009364742144 https://twitter.com/ArvindKejriwal/status/1581896546240516096 https://twitter.com/msisodia/status/1581874719736811520

Congress Presidential Polls: Mallikarjun Kharge vs Shashi Tharoor Face Off Today

The day has finally arrived when the Congress party would get its first ever non-Gandhi President in over 20 years. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are all set for a face-off today in the Congress Presidential Elections. Even though no Gandhis are officially a part of the presidential polls, Shashi Tharoor has pointed to what he called 'bias' and an 'uneven playing field'. Mr Mallikarjun Kharge filed his nomination at the eleventh hour after Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot dropped out of the presidential race. It is anticipated that Kharge is the approved candidate. However, Mr Kharge has denied all such rumours. Rahul Gandhi had voluntarily stepped down from the top post after the party's election defeat in 2019. He is currently leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra, but he has categorically refused to return as the party supremo even after repetitive pressure from a section of Congress leaders. In the absence of any party president, Sonia Gandhi, who had taken a backseat, was persuaded to make a comeback as the interim president.  https://youtu.be/XxBZSPSeZI0

Dog Breeds Including Pitbull, Rottweiler Banned as Pets In Ghaziabad Amid Series of Dog Attack Incidents

Amid a series of dog attack incidents in the past few months, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has banned certain dog breeds, including Pitbull, Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino, as pets. The civic body has also issued several guidelines for pet owners. One of the guidelines says that a family can keep one only dog as a pet, and they would also have to obtain a licence for their dog. Pet owners will also have to ensure that their dogs wear a muzzle while in public. "The three breeds -- Pitbull, Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino -- are ferocious, and no permission will be granted to keep these dogs. No licence will be issued. If somebody buys one of these, he/she will be responsible. All these three breeds have been banned in Ghaziabad," told GMC Councillor Sanjay Singh to PTI. He also added that those who already own any of these three dog breeds would have to compulsorily get them sterilised within two months. Mayor Asha Sharma said that though dog owners love their pets, they will also have to think about the children who sustained several injuries in dog attacks. "More than 10 children suffered dog bites. A child in the Sanjay Nagar colony, Kush Tyagi, was attacked by a Pitbull, and he got 150 stitches on his face. Four days later, another boy was attacked by a dog of this breed," said the Mayor. For stray dogs, the Mayor said that residents can offer them food at a designated place. The Kanpur Municipal Corporation and the Panchkula Municipal Corporation have also banned the Pitbull and Rottweiler breeds of dogs as pets.
