Bhavai is a classic Bollywood romance film starring Pratik Gandhi and Aindrita Ray. It’s the epitome of our folk art with a unique love story that will keep you engrossed and captivated throughout.  With a rating of 6.2 out of 10 on IMDb, it is quite an interesting movie to watch. The story takes us on an enlightening journey to rural life and shows us how these rural people still value and behold our old customs and traditions which we often tend to forget.  It’s an intimately thrilling drama that tells the story of two lovers in the village of Khakhar where they play two characters from Ramlila. I was not prepared for the wonderfully twisted plot that sets this movie apart from the other films today. It beautifully unravels the double standards of society  Rajaram, a passionate and aspiring actor, has a dream of becoming an actor in theatre. As a resident of a small village, he is deprived of many opportunities to make his dream come true. We get to see the dark side of society when it comes to religion and culture and what keeps us from questioning hypocrisy and societal norms through his eyes. The movie courageously showcases the struggles, conflicts, and rivalries in the rural areas that are incredibly complex and fragile.  I was also taken aback by the beautiful Gujrati culture and togetherness of the people no matter what. The story is thought-provoking and insightful. It holds the power to leave you inspired and motivated at the end without even making you realize it. The story is packed with a compelling plot alongside a sensational romance.  I highly recommend it.
