Australia To Make Major Changes For Bangladesh Tour Ahead Of T20 World Cup

It was recently revealed that Australia will be touring Bangladesh, prior to the T20 World Cup. The team from down-under had not toured Bangladesh since a Test series in 2017 that included a couple of games. To add to that, the last time the two teams faced off in a T20 match in the country was during the 2014 T20 World Cup. This was at that point in time when their only win out of four group matches was against the host nation. Now, since the tour has been officially announced, the Aussies are ready to get going. They will be facing off against the Asian Lions prior to the upcoming international tournament. The teams will be featuring in a shorter-format white-ball series, in lieu of the upcoming T20 World Cup. It will be a good five-match series to determine which team comes out on top. Though Bangladesh will go into that series as the underdogs, they have a bad habit of pulling off shocking results. Something similar could be expected from them in that upcoming series.

What Is The Latest Update On The Australian Team Ahead Of The Tour Of Bangladesh Which Will Be Prior To The T20 World Cup?

The likes of Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Jhye Richardson, Marcus Stoinis, Daniel Sams, David Warner and Pat Cummins have all put in requests not to be considered for the tour. They have cited various reasons for their absence. It has been a hectic year to say the least. The pandemic has impacted each and every team. To add to that, the ever-dependable Steve Smith has a problem with his elbow. His injury has relapsed now. It is on the same arm on which he had undergone surgery before. The fact that such a huge contingent of the Aussie first team will be missing that they will be considering alternatives. With that being said, Cricket Australia now has the opportunity to test their squad depth. That is ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup. The tournament that is to be held in October will be a test of the physical and mental health of all these players. They have been going through some tough times like other players from various other countries. Each and every player will now want to do their best.
