Sanjay Manjrekar Gives His Verdict On Suryakumar Yadav For T20 World Cup

A lot of Pundits have been giving their verdicts on the T20 World Cup about a lot of things. Many former players and commentators have talked about various aspects of the Indian team. Now, it seems Sanjay Manjrekar has come out and made a comment about the no. 3 position. The former cricketer feels that Suryakumar Yadav would be a great fit for that position.

This would mean that the commentator and Pundit feels that Virat Kohli should open the batting probably. He further went on to hint that he wants Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to open the innings. This is a possibility that has been considered in the past as well.

What Were The Comments Made By Sanjay Manjrekar About Suryakumar Yadav Related To The T20 World Cup?

King Kohli and Rohit Sharma had opened for the innings for the Indian team for the first time in the fifth match of the home T20 series against England. The duo managed to score a tally of 94 runs in that brilliant partnership.

Keeping that in mind, Manjrekar said in an online interaction, “Yes, I think Surya is one of the front-runners, especially with the news coming out that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be the Indian openers. There could be a lot of possibilities for the number 3 slot for me. I do not know what plan they have with KL Rahul. However, there is certainly a place for Suryakumar Yadav in the team.”

He further went on to add, “I have rarely seen anyone bat as he did in the IPL. He has been brilliant for the whole season and beyond that as well. An ideal number three. Can hit balls for fours, certainly an option for the team.”

Well, a lot of Pundits do seem to like Suryakumar Yadav a lot. He is one of the hot talking points with the T20 World Cup coming up. The fans also seem to be backing him to play for Team India. Let’s see if the selectors and skipper Virat Kohli feel the same as well.
