Shakib Al Hasan And Mustafizur Rahman Will Miss The Second Phase Of IPL 2021

The latest update coming in on the IPL 2021 tournament confirms that two Bangladeshi players will not be re-joining their franchises. The competition will be resuming in September, as recently confirmed by the BCCI. It had to be stopped initially due to the growing pandemic in India. There were some cases reported within the franchises and the bio-bubble had been compromised. Keeping that in mind, the IPL Governing Council and the BCCI took the necessary steps to safeguard the safety of the players. However, it seems not all of the players that started off the tournament, will be returning for its conclusion. Already, Pat Cummins has said that he will not be taking part in the business end of the tournament. Now, there is more such news, keeping the T20 World Cup in mind.

The Latest Update On The Return Of The IPL 2021 Tournament And Why These Two Stars Could Be Missing?

The latest story confirms that the Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan will deny Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play the IPL 2021 Phase 2. The second half of this illustrious tournament was to be played in the UAE, after the recent change in venue.

The two players play for the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals respectively. They will now be missing from the rest of the tournament. Nazmul Hassan recently issued a statement to "Ekattor TV", a local Bengali news channel as reported by PTI regarding the same. He said, "It is almost impossible to provide NOC (for IPL) considering the international commitments that we have in the upcoming months. I do not see any chance of giving it (NOC) to them. We have the (T20) World Cup coming up. Now, every match is important." This would be a huge blow for the two teams from the IPL. That too, especially for the team from Rajasthan. They will be losing their ace bowler, who has led the line for them so far in the tournament. KKR has replacements for Shakib, who seemed out of form. Eoin Morgan and co. should be able to manage. However, the absence of Cummins and Shakib both could hurt their ambitions in the IPL 2021 tournament.
