
ECI Bans Exit Polls In Uttar Pradesh From 10th Feb To 7th March
On Saturday, chief electoral officer of Uttar Pradesh, Ajay Kumar Shukla said: “Conducting the exit polls, its publication in print or electronic media or its publicity has been banned from 7.00 am on February 10 to 6.30 pm on March 7.” The Election commission also added that those who are found violating the order might get jailed for at least 2 years and fine or both.

The exit polls in Uttar Pradesh has been banned from 7 am on 10th February to 6:30 pm on 7th March 2022 ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections. The elections in Uttar Pradesh will be conducted in 7 phases starting from 10th February and counting of votes will take place on 10th March.
The last assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh was won by the Bhartiya Janata Party with a landslide majority of securing 312 seats out of the 403 assembly seats. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India have put a ban on physical rallies and roadshows in poll-bound states till 31st January 2022.
