Upcoming Elections In Five States Are Unlikely To Get Postponed

As per the sources, the upcoming elections in five states are not going to be postponed amid a sudden surge in Covid-19 cases across the country. Earlier, the Chief Election Commissioner took updates regarding the situation of the poll bound states.

However, official announcement regarding the conduct/postpone of elections will be announced soon. Recently, the Allahabad High Court had suggested that the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh should be postponed by a month or two. This suggestion was made due to the rising threat of the Omicron variant in the country.
