Aryan Khan Denied Bail; Not Such A ‘Happy’ Birthday For Gauri Khan
Ever since Aryan Khan’s arrest in connection to the Mumbai drug bust case, Shah Rukh Khan’s family has been hitting the headlines. It all started after the Narcotics Control Bureau conducted a raid at a rave party on a luxury cruise that was going from Mumbai to Goa. Though NCB often conducts raids, the particular raid caught attention when it was revealed that one of the accused in the case is none other than the son of the king of Bollywood, Aryan Khan.
On 7th October, a Mumbai Court granted judicial custody to Aryan Khan in the Mumbai Drug Bust Case; prior to that, SRK’s son was in NCB custody. Today, on 8th October, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nerlikar, while hearing the bail plea filed by Aryan Khan, denied bail to all 3 accused, namely, Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha stating that the bail application submitted seeks bail at the wrong forum, and therefore, not maintainable.
Not A ‘Great’ Birthday For Gauri Khan
After the court granted judicial custody to Aryan Khan, it was a sign of relief for Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, as judicial custody means they could file a bail plea; however, on Gauri Khan birthday, i.e. 8th October, the court shattered her dreams of celebrating her birthday with her son Aryan.
The court observed that since there have been seizures of drugs in the Mumbai Drugs on cruise case, the case can only be tried at sessions court. While Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Mahashinde that the NCB has failed to seize any drugs directly from Aryan Khan, he has only been arrested on the basis of some WhatsApp chats. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nerlikar, while quoting Rhea Chakraborty’s case, stated that all accused could not be bifurcated based on no-seizure and seizure in a single case.
The rejection of the bail plea comes as a shock to Shah Rukh Khan’s family as 8th October is also Gauri Khan birthday and the gift that she received today was certainly not the gift she was hoping for. Meanwhile, Aryan Khan and the other 2 accused will be lodged at Arthur Road Jail today, and they will also have to spend the weekends there as sessions court will be shut tomorrow. Meanwhile, it’s not quite a ‘happy’ birthday for Gauri Khan; instead, a dark one since her son will not be returning to Mannat for the occasion. However, Bollywood has been pouring in a lot of love and support to the Khan family as they are going through a challenging phase.

Bollywood female actor Raveena Tandon also came out in support of Aryan Khan. Taking to social media, Raveena wrote: “Shameful politics being played out.. it’s a young man’s life and future they toying with heartbreaking (sic),”

A source close to the development revealed that ever since Gauri Khan has heard the news of her son getting arrested by the NCB, she has been very restless and upset. The source said: “Gauri has been very upset and restless ever since the news broke. She was supposed to travel abroad in the coming days for an interior-designing project. But that will be put on hold now for obvious reasons.” In fact, the NCB has also arrested the man who used to supply drugs to Aryan Khan.
Meanwhile, Bollywood personalities, including Farah Khan and Sussanne Khan, have poured wishes for Gauri Khan on her 51st birthday, calling her the strongest mother. Gauri Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan also took to social media to wish her mom and shared a throwback picture of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. This was Suhana’s first post since brother Aryan Khan’s arrest. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan and her family have not given any media statement or made any public appearance since Aryan’s arrest.
Is There Some Truth To The Story?
While the whole Bollywood fraternity and SRK fans are constantly supporting Shah Rukh Khan and his family, many, on the other hand, are claiming that there could be something actually wrong going in Aryan Khan’s life. In fact, during the court’s hearing, additional solicitor general Anil Singh, representing the NCB, said: “They are influential persons… is a chance of tampering with evidence. Had it been one person with small quantity, it would be different. We have a lot of material… protection like bail at this stage will hamper the investigation,” Meanwhile, a report surfaced online stating that Aryan Khan cried inconsolably during the NCB interrogation and even accepted that he had been taking drugs regularly for 4 years now.
Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha have been arrested under Section 8C, 20B, 27 with 35 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The NCB officials have seized 21 grams of Charas, 22 pills of MDMA, 13 grams of Cocaine, 5 grams of MD and Rs 1.33 lakhs from the raid it conducted on the rave party at the cruise ship.
