Bunty Aur Babli 2 Teaser: Rani, Saif Not Happy With Siddhant-Sharvari’s Casting
Ever since Yash Raj Films have announced Bunty Aur Babli 2, fans have been going crazy to watch the iconic characters Bunty and Babli to create magic on the big screen. Finally, today, the makers of Bunty Aur Babli 2 greeted their fans with an adorable surprise and dropped the film’s teaser. Apart from making the excitement go a notch higher, the teaser has also raised a question: Who is the real Bunty and Babli? Is it Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan or Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari?
The Bunty Aur Babli 2 teaser opens up with Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan, where they can be seen getting ready to shoot and talking about how they feel nice about finally working together after 12 year long gap. Just as both are ready to create the iconic Bunty-Babli magic, suddenly Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari crash the sets, saying they are the real Bunty and Babli. Well, that doesn’t go down well with the OG Bunty and Babli, i.e. Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee. A furious Rani asks the producer and her husband, Aditya Chopra, to meet her about the script change. Honestly, the teaser is one of a kind. Generally, film teasers have shots from the main film. However, the makers of Bunty Aur Babli 2 took an unconventional route and decided to surprise fans with just the introduction of actors trolling each other.
Meanwhile, actor Saif Ali Khan who will essay the role of Rakesh, aka the OG Bunty, spoke about the concept and said: “Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a game of cat and mouse between the OG con couple and the new con couple, trying to prove that they are better than what the originals were in their prime. This will spark the rivalry,”
Rani Mukherjee, who will essay the role of Vimmy, aka the OG Babli, said: “The video is a true reflection of what the film has to offer to audiences which is non-stop entertainment and non-stop comedy. The film has been smartly written with trolling humour,”
Siddhant Chaturvedi, who will play the role of a new Bunty, said: “While the OGs feel that the new con artists are mere usurpers, the new con couple feels that they are cooler and smarter than the OGs. That’s the premise of the film, and you will see us going after each other right from this video,” Sharvari, who will be essaying the role of the tech Babli, said: “It was super fun to shoot this because here we were being trolled by Saif sir and Rani ma’am for being fake Bunty and Babli, and we had to prove it to them saying how we are way superior con artists because we are children of the tech boom,”
Bunty Aur Babli 2 has been helmed by Varun V. Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra. The first part of the Bunty Aur Babli series featured Rani Mukherjee, Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan and was released in the year 2005.
