Mrunal Thakur’s Transition from Television to Bollywood
Mrunal Thakur started her career with television, but she made her transition from television to Bollywood in 2018. Bulbul Arora is one of the most notable roles she ever played on television; you might have remembered the television show Kumkum Bhagya. However, she debuted in Bollywood in 2018 in the film Love Sonia, the movie is based on a true event, and it got a 7.4 rating on IMDB.
She was already a bit popular due to her television background, but it made her more recognizable when her film Super 30 was released in 2019. Batla House was released in the same year, and the audience loved her performance in that movie too.
When Mrunal was asked what she looked for before signing a film, she said that she had not planned her journey so far, but she wanted to play a unique role in each film, and she was also very particular about the filmmakers. Mrunal wants to work with different actors and directors.
After working with two big Bollywood stars, Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham, she was praised a lot. She says that success and failure are part of the journey, and it should not affect you. For Love Sonia, I was praised a lot, but it could not make great numbers; no matter what happens, my hard work will always be 100 percent, said Mrunal .
The transition from television to Bollywood was very tough, said Mrunal . She gave an audition for Amir Khan’s Dangal; girls from across the country came there for the audition, but still, she made it to the top 20. She had to attend the workshop to get selected for that role, but she had to go to shoot for a Maha role and couldn’t participate in that workshop, and that’s how she lost the chance.
She was even asked not to post pictures with her television colleagues or friends when she transitioned from television to Bollywood, but she refused to do so. She said it’s my past, and I proud of it. She worked in Netflix’s Ghost Stories, and now you will see her with Farhan Akhtar in Toofaan and Shahid Kapoor in Jersey.
