Vidya Balan Starrer Sherni’s Teaser Out Now, Trailer To Release On 2nd June

The makers of Sherni featuring Vidya Balan in the lead role released the teaser today. The teaser drops the hint that Vidya is going to be the real tigress of the movie. Vidya Balan essays the role of an Indian forest officer (IFS), and it seems that she will try to find a balance in a world where humans and animals are in constant conflict, the world of wild forests. The teaser starts with the shot of a vast forest landscape and Vidya walking towards the camera and says: “Jungle kitna bhi ghana kyu na ho, sherni apna raasta dhund hi leti hai” (No matter how dense the forest is, the tigress knows her way)

Vidya Balan took to Instagram and wrote: “A tigress always knows the way! Ready to hear the #Sherni roar? Here’s the Official Teaser. Trailer out, June 2. Meet #ShernionPrime, June 2021.”

Sherni is directed by Amit Masurkar and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Krishan Kumar and Amit Masurkar. Not much has been revealed in the teaser, but one can easily understand that Vidya’s role is bold and fierce in the film. The actor is known for choosing unconventional and women-centric roles, be it playing a strong personality in Shakuntala Devi, a headstrong housewife in Tumhari Sulu, or a ruthless prostitute in Begum Jaan, Vidya has always managed to win the audience’s heart by bringing the character into the screen effortlessly. The teaser of Sherni looks like another opportunity for Vidya to portray her versatile acting skills.

Sherni features an ensemble cast including Vijay Raaj, Ila Arun, Sharat Saxena, Neeraj Kabi and Brijendra Kala, amongst others. The Amazon Prime Video movie is written by Aastha Tiku and is an Abundantia Entertainment Production.

The movie’s trailer will be out on 2nd June, but there has been no official confirmation on the release date yet.
