Want Cheese Overdose? Try Chef Ranveer Brar’s Bread Lasagna

We all are stuck at home and have nowhere to go! You will be lying if you say that you are not missing the lip-smacking and delicious food of your favourite restaurant or cafe. Well, if you are a die-hard lasagna lover, chef Ranveer Brar has got your cravings covered!

If you want to enjoy your evening, a plate of delicious bread lasagna and something to watch on Netflix, well, what’s better than that?

Prep time: 15-20 minutes

Cook time: 25-30 minutes

Ingredients

8-10 white bread slices

Butter

Olive oil

Onion

Capsicum

Broccoli

Paneer

Tomato

Sweet corn

Green Peas

Garlic

Green Chillies

Coriander leaves

Oregano

Red chilli flakes

Salt to taste

Sugar

Tomato Puree

Tomato Ketchup

Grated cheese

Basil

Method

For toasting bread

Take the bread slices and flatten them using a rolling pin.

Heat butter in a pan, and toast the bread slices from one side, remove them and keep them aside.

For the first layer of stuffing

Take a pan and heat some oil; add butter, garlic, onion and saute until the mixture becomes translucent.

Add capsicum, sweet corn, green peas, green chillies and cook for two minutes.

Add oregano, red chilli flakes, salt, tomato puree and keep cooking until the mixture is thickened.

Add chopped tomato, tomato ketchup and cook for another minute.

Remove the mixture and keep it aside.

For the second layer of stuffing

Take a pan and heat some oil; add butter, garlic, onion and saute until the mixture becomes translucent.

Add broccoli and saute for a minute. (Don’t cook for too long as it might destroy the crunchy texture of broccoli)

Add grated paneer, mix everything properly and cook for another minute.

Remove the mixture and keep it aside.

Marination of tomatoes

Take a bowl, add sliced tomatoes, garlic, coriander leaves, salt, red chilli flakes, olive oil, mix everything properly and keep the mixture aside.

For tomato sauce

Take a pan, heat olive oil and butter, then add garlic and saute for a few seconds.

Add tomato puree and saute for another two minutes on medium heat.

Add salt, sugar, tomato ketchup, red chilli flakes, oregano and continue cooking for another two minutes.

Add olive oil to the mixture, remove it and keep it aside to cool down.

Assembling the bread lasagna

Take a pan with a heavy bottom and place it on high heat for preheating.

Take a bread slice and place the second stuffing (broccoli and paneer stuffing) on it.

Take another bread slice and place the first stuffing (tomato stuffing) on it.

Add grated cheese and repeat the process for making four layers with the bread slices.

After assembling the layers of lasagna, add the marinated pieces of tomatoes on top of it.

Add a layer of first stuffing (tomato stuffing) on the preheated pan to make a base so that the bread lasagna doesn’t get burnt from the bottom.

Put the bread lasagna on top of the base, add the freshly prepared tomato sauce, sprinkle some red chilli flakes and grated cheese.

Cover the pan and let the bread lasagna cook until the cheese is melted.

Remove the bread lasagna from the pan.

Take a plate, add the first layer of stuffing (tomato stuffing), marinated pieces of tomato, freshly prepared tomato sauce, grated cheese and place the bread lasagna on top of it. Garnish with basil and serve hot.
