Delhi NCR Air Quality Remains In ‘Severe’ Category
Delhi-NCR residents are currently facing air emergency conditions since the air quality has moved down to the ‘severe’ category from the ‘very poor’ category. Though weather conditions changed in favour of dispersing pollutants, the air quality index might improve by Tuesday and move back to the ‘very poor’ category. Higher wind speeds may improve the situation, but the air quality will remain bad in the coming days. Mahesh Palawat, Vice President, Meteorology And Climate Change, Skymet said: “The weather conditions would remain almost the same on Monday as on Sunday. So there won’t be much change in the air quality as stubble burning is likely to continue. The maximum respite that the city can expect AQI in the ‘very poor’ category,” Apart from the national capital, neighbouring cities also fared no better with Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram recording 446,455, 419 AQI respectively.
Covid-Bulletin: India Registers 11,451 New Covid-19 Cases; Recovery Rate At 98.24%
According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry, India has registered 11,451 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the country currently stands at 1,42,826, which is the lowest in 262 days. Meanwhile, daily recoveries continue to outnumber fresh covid-19 cases, with recording 13,204 new recoveries in the previous 24 hours. The total recoveries in the country have reached 3,37,63,104. The daily and weekly positivity rate stands at 1.32% and 1.26%, respectively. As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, the country has conducted 61.60 crore covid-19 tests so far. On the vaccination front, India has administered 108.47 crore covid-19 vaccine doses so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

Tamil Nadu: Extremely Heavy Rain Predicted In Chennai Says Weather Department
The weather department has predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in 14 districts of Chennai including, Nagapattinam, Karaikal, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, among others. The state authorities have issued an order to close schools and encouraged private offices to provide work from home for the next 2 days. On Sunday, Chennai received 20 CM of rain, causing water-logging in various parts of the states. The MK Stalin-led government has set up pump sets in 500 locations to remove the logged water. Relief camps have also been opened in the state to provide food, shelter and medical care.

PM Modi To Inaugurate Pandharpur Highway Projects; Set To Lay Foundation Stone
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to lay the foundation stone for Pandharpur highway projects for 4-laning of five sections of Shri Sant Dnyaneshawar Maharaj Palkhi Marg (NH-965) and 3 sections of Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg (NH-965G) informed the Prime Minister’s Office. With an intention to boost connectivity to Pandharpur, PM Modi will dedicate more than 223 km of road projects with an estimated cost of Rs 1180 crore at different national highways. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the projects at 3:30 pm via video conferencing on Monday.

Aryan Khan Case: SRK’s Son Skips NCB SIT Questioning; Cites Health Reasons
Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was recently granted bail by the Bombay High Court on the cruise ship drug case. However, Aryan Khan has been granted bail on several conditions, which included a questioning session with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). However, SRK’s son did not attend the last questioning session citing that he was suffering from a mild fever and won’t be able to appear today. Aryan Khan was supposed to attend the session today between 6 PM-8 PM. Two other accused, including Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, reached the NCB office today for questioning. On Friday, the Aryan Khan case was transferred from NCB Mumbai Zonal Unit to the SIT team.
