Kay Beauty’s Newly Launched Hydrating Foundation: Is It Worth Buying?

Many famous personalities in the west like Rihanna (Fenty Beauty), Selena Gomez (Rare Beauty) have launched their own makeup line. This trend has influenced Bollywood actors too; one such personality is Katrina Kaif.

Kaif launched her own makeup line, “Kay Beauty,” in the year 2019 in partnership with India’s largest beauty retailer, Nykaa. The Kay Beauty was a pan-India launch with products available across 50 Nykaa stores,  their online website, and app. Since its launch, Kay Beauty has received mixed reviews for its various products.

In this review article, we are going to give our verdict on Kay Beauty’s newly launched Hydrating foundation line; you can then decide if it’s worth buying or not!

What Does The Product Claims? – The Foundation claims to give you buildable coverage while providing the right amount of hydration to your skin by its lock-in moisture formula. The product erases blemishes and has a buttery smooth texture. It also claims to give you an all-day comfortable wear and is suitable for all skin types.

The Key Ingredients – The foundation has Katrina’s Kare ingredients like Avocado Butter, Mango Butter, and Hyaluronic Acid. The foundation is cruelty-free, paraben-free, and a vegan product.

The Shade Range – The Hydrating Foundation’s USP is its shade range, as it comes in 20 different shades with various undertones. Each shade has a shade number, a letter to denote the undertone, and a shade name. (170Y Tan)

The Packaging – The packaging of the product is quite travel-friendly as it comes in a glass bottle with a white pump. The lid is tight, making the packaging leak-proof.

The Price – The Hydrating Foundation retails for INR 1200. (30gm) (*currently on Nykaa)

Our Verdict: Generally, foundations can be quite dry on your skin, so Kay Beauty’s hydrating foundation takes the award as the formula really hydrates your face and gives you a skinlike finish. The consistency of the foundation is creamy, and it provides you a sheer to medium coverage with a natural finish.

The coverage is buildable, but it will not cover very dark areas of your skin, and you might have to use your concealer for that part. Unlike most of the foundations present in the Indian market, the product feels very light on your skin.

After you have done a full face of makeup, The foundation will not give you a complete matte finish, and it will leave a natural touch on your face. The product doesn’t get oxidised as well.

Coming to the packaging factor, the glass bottle is quite sturdy and comes with a tight lid; it’s perfectly travel-friendly. The product takes full marks at the packaging factor.

The price is a little costly compared to other foundations in the Indian market, but foundations, as a product, last for a long time.

Our final verdict is that you can invest in Kay Beauty’s Hydrating Foundation as it does provide what it claims, and the shade range is super inclusive. Well, Kudos to Katrina Kaif for that!
