Delhi Capitals’ Captain Shreyas Iyer to Miss IPL 2021 Due to Shoulder Injury
The Indian Cricket Team has been adding many winnings to their credit after defeating England in the T20I series and 1st ODI in the three-ODI match series. While India is gearing up for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Delhi Capitals’ captain Shreyas Iyer will miss the IPL due to a shoulder injury he picked up in the India vs England 1st ODI match.
Iyer was in his complete form during the preceding T20I series between India and England but received a big blow in the 1st ODI match as he encountered a shoulder injury.
Confirming about the same, Delhi Capitals chairman Parth Jindal tweeted, “Absolutely devastated and gutted for our skipper @ShreyasIyer15 – stay strong captain – hope for a very quick recovery,” Jindal wrote in his tweet. “Have full faith that you will come back even stronger from this. India needs you in the T20 World Cup.”

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will start from 9th April, with Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Banglore in M.A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM.
On 10th April, Delhi Capitals will play their first game against Chennai Super Kings in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Shreyas Iyer’s absence might prove to be a significant loss for Delhi Capitals as he was the one who led the team to their IPL finals last year.
According to a report by India Today, Iyer will undergo surgery on his left shoulder after the first week of April.
